22nd October 2002: Operations Department within Education Division launches Quality Service Charter

The Education Division is responsible for the education of the upcoming generation, a no mean responsibility which is shouldered by various departments. The Operations Department which is one of the 6 Departments within the Division, assumes a wide share of these responsibilities. One has only to go through the list of services to the public to realise how wide the field of operation of this Department is.

The Operations Department is responsible for :

  • The supervision of State primary and secondary schools in Malta and Gozo with the exception of special education schools

  • Ensuring the delivery of policies through communication and clarification

  • Ensuring the development of professional staff in these schools

  • Ensuring the quality of schools

  • Establishing and working with School Councils

  • Recommending policy and / or administrative / programme matters for State Schools

  • Facilitating better communication between schools, the Education Division, the Ministry of Education, the School Communities and parents

The mission of the Operations Department is to ensure Quality Education for all. It ensures that the entitlement due to children attending State Schools in Malta is ample enough to guarantee what we have pledged ourselves to provide.

The adoption of a Quality Service Charter is precisely meant to help us concentrate our efforts to provide the public with the best service.

Moreover, with the adoption of this Quality Service Charter on the 22nd October 2002 at noon, our pledge has now become public and as a result, our clients, namely parents and children, are fully aware of what they should expect from the Operations Department. We at the Operations Department on the other hand promise that we are embarking on this project so
