October 2001: Health Inspectorate Services launch Quality Service
Charter

During the press conference held to mark the launch
of the Health Inspectorate Quality Service Charter, Health Minister
Louis Deguara explained how over the past months, the government has
introduced several initiatives to improve the quality of food and
beverages for Maltese and tourists alike.
He was speaking during the launch of the Health
Inspectorate Services Quality Service Charter, which focuses on food
premises' inspections and complaints' investigations.

restructuring that led to the introduction of a Quality Service
Charter for food premises' inspections and complaints' investigations.
He also explained how the Food Safety Bill was
given a second reading by the House of Representatives in July and was
now awaiting debate in committee.
Meanwhile, Manager Health Inspector John Attard Kingswell said they
were able to launch a the charter after the inspectorate had undergone
a major restructuring which involved further computerisation of
all offices and streamlining of all operations.
