Introduction

At the Roads Section in Gozo we aim to achieve the highest standards when building and maintaining arterial and distributory roads. We do our best to ensure that Gozo's main roads are smooth, safe, well-lit and well-kept.

Our Services

The Roads Section in Gozo is responsible for:

  • road maintenance. This includes patching, resurfacing and reconstruction; as well as repairing potholes and other damage to road surfaces and pavements

  • structural maintenance of central strips and roundabouts·

  • repairs to Government-owned  rubble walls and other walls along main roads

  • installation and maintenance of road signs and road markings on all roads (we place these on secondary roads at the request of Local Councils)

  • naming of main roundabouts to serve as landmarks

  • installation and maintenance of decorative lighting on main roads.

Our Standards

Our staff regularly inspect all main roads and their lighting. Should we fail to notice any damage to one of Gozo's main roads, please let us know. Get in touch with us if you notice a pothole or some other road hazard.

We will send one of our staff to assess the damage you have pointed out and fix any pothole within 48 hours. More serious damage will take us longer to repair. Please feel free to call us for an estimate of how long a particular job will take to complete.

You may also call us to report any problems with the street lighting on main roads. We will pass on - and follow up - your request with Enemalta Corporation.

When we are about to undertake major road works, we will inform all residents in the neighbourhood beforehand through signage, notices on the Local Council’s notice board and, where possible, through mailing individual notices. Our signs will include the name of the project, our telephone numbers, the name and telephone number of the contractor together with the scheduled completion date.   We will minimise noise and inconvenience.  Above all, we will do our best to meet deadlines.

We welcome all your suggestions, complaints and requests as they help us improve our service. You can give us your feedback by:
